Post-Kickstarter Update XXXI: Bogglez-wûrf and Koschei the Deathless...

As many of you marvel at your Wave 3A miniatures, work continues at Hysterical HQ on Wave 3B so here is a quick update for you...
Orc Squadron Leader Bogglez-wûrf

Squadron Leader Bogglez-wûrf
Squadron Leader Bogglez-wûrf
The famous Orc Air Force Squadron Leader Bogglez-wûrf, a legend in his own lunchtime, has now been sculpted and comes with his life saving brolly (read G2 issue one for that story).
Remember he comes free with Sergeant level pledges or above so lots of you will be getting your Bogglez for free!
Count Koschei the Deathless

Count Koschei the Deathless
Count Koschei the Deathless
The infamous Dark Elf necromancer who raised the Deathless and introduced a whole plethora of new horrors onto The Land.
This sculpt of the Count is a Kickstarter exclusive, won't all your non-backer friends be so jealous of you? :-)
Lots more work going on behind the scenes, the Dwarf Mountain Troops and Orc Highlanders should be the next sets sculpted, so please bear with us and don't forget to share pictures of your painted miniatures on the Panzerfäuste Facebook Group, we love to see them!

Post-Kickstarter Update XXIV: Deathless Zombi, Command and Support

From the frozen north come the Deathless marching onto your tabletops...

Deathless Zombi (photo by Ant)

Well Panzerfäusters we have some good news and some not so good news and some teasing news...
The Good News:
We have shipped out LOTS of wave two pledges, with a pile more to go early next week once Rob and Vince return from the show in Derby this weekend. The Deathless Zombi, Command, Support and Brute are now all moulded and being cast up at a rate of knots. If you have opted for Wave Two and picked Deathless, here are some pics Vince took yesterday in the workshop of what you're going to be getting...

 The Not So Good News:
The Troglodytes need some more work on them to allow us to mould them. Rob will be working on fixing the 3D prints next week then getting them moulded and cast asap. This isn't a complicated job, just one that eats time.
We have been having some issues with the Gnomes, especially the separate arms, and have decided that they would work better with the arms cast in white metal. This is going to delay the Gnome Command and Support packs a little whilst we get the bits moulded, but we think it is the right decision to make. The Voltigeurs will also see their arms replaced with metal ones.
The Teasing News:
Well no one worked out the forthcoming product tease in the last update, so here is another...

We are hoping to release this product in November to enable Ol'Piggy to bring you one for Hognachtswatch! :-)
In Other News:
It is great to see what gamers around the world are doing with their Panzerfäuste miniatures and we hope you have all joined the Panzerfäuste Facebook Group where you will have seen photos of Robyn's latest models posted from Australia. Her Zinn Mann here has a magnet in its neck to allow the optional head to be swapped with the regular one, and another in his arm that allows Hansi the cat to sit on it without falling off...

More news soon Panzerfäuste fans...

Post-Kickstarter Update XXII: Dwarf Support Weapons, Deathless Zombi & T-shirts...

On the Kickstarter front Rob and Vince have been beavering away on the 26 sets coming in Wave Two, which is all going to schedule, and to whet the appetite here is a picture of the Dwarf Support Weapons Set - cool or what?

And talking of cool, you will look so cool in your Panzerfäuste t-shirt that you pledged for in the Kickstarter. Rob will be getting these printed soon and as all wargamers are not all 2XL, can you email him asap with your preferred t-shirt size at hystericalgamesorders@gmail.com (even if you are proper sized 2XL wargamer).

AND if you are thinking, "oh no I won't look as cool as (insert name here) in their exclusive Panzerfäuste t-shirt" and that makes you sad, don't be sad, send Rob an email and he will send you back a Pay Pal invoice for £15 so it can be included in your pledge when it ships.

Wave Two will also include the first Deathless models and Steve was lucky to grab a set of the Zombi on one of his visits to Hysterical Towers and have painted them up - and jolly nice they are too in their blood splattered uniforms...

Post-Kickstarter Update XX: Kazak Cavalry & Steurmer's Stormers

We've had a busy few weeks of design work and a host of wargames shows in the UK and Germany but things still progress!

Manufacturing:

Some of you will have spotted Rob's very naughty sneak peek on Facebook of the Deathless Zombie Elves shambling into battle against an Orcish Sausage Shredder team!

This IS a sign that there are Wave 2 moulds in manufacturing. However, we have not moulded everything yet (we have moulded 6 Wave 2 items - we won't share what they are until we are 100% that we're happy with the quality, even these elves need a bit of work in our opinion!).

It's worth pointing out that we now think that a sensible estimate is that Wave 2 will ship in SEPTEMBER and that Wave 3 in January or February. We do apologise for this delay and hope that you can forgive us, given that it was a project that funded at 600% of it's target goal with many more sets to produce than originally planned, we think we've done remarkably well to stay at least close to our deadline.

Of course, the same rules apply as before. We will not sell anything from Wave 2 or Wave 3 until we have started shipping it.

This will not affect our future release plans.

We are planning a small Kickstarter campaign to go live in November. This is not a swift cash grab, we have been working on the concept art for this next Kickstarter since October last year. Sculpting is due to begin as soon as Wave 3 sculpting from our initial project is complete.

Speaking of which...

3D Sculpting:

Herb has completed the Deathless Zombi Kazak! These are HUGE models, the Undead Elves are 36mm tall, literally head and shoulders over an Orc. The demonic Nightmares which they are riding are really imposing (imagine them painted black with flaming eyes, mane, tail and hooves!). The heads are all interchangable on the riders, so you can pose them slightly differently and create at least a little variety.

Irek has also been continuing his work on the Dwarves and has completed Steurmer's Stormers - the Dwarf Straftruppen section, which, as you can see, look absolutely amazing...

Post-Kickstarter Update XIII: Zombi Dwarves, Zombi Troll & Skøgtroll

We're getting there! Promise! Turns out, the programme we're using for Pledge Manager doesn't support wave shipping, but we're working a way around it. We hope there will be something really very soon.

Those of you who have messaged us in regards to last week's update, thank you. This has been incredibly useful information. Rob has been busily casting miniatures, and we've had some great support from a few of our friends to help bump the number up a bit.

If you want to pick up at a show (for free shipping) or you want to have Wave 1 shipped out, please, please, please let us know roughly what you would like. Rob is going to start packing these orders as soon as he's got confirmation, so we know your orders are ready to go. That said, if you don't, we will do everything we can to ensure your Wave 1 still goes out before we start attending shows!

Right then, we've also made some fantastic progress in the last 2 weeks and we thought that maybe we should report on that.

Artwork:

Artwork has actually begun on the next campaign. Will Beck is starting to conceptualise the new races that will feature in the next campaign. Very exciting, but you won't see anything more on that for a good few months! On the other hand, sadly, the others have been committed to other projects and unable to deliver anything. We had hoped we would be able to share pictures of all the 'pledge level' characters before the Pledge Manager goes live, but that is looking quite unlikely! We'll do what we can to get them, or as much of them, or as much concept information made available to aid your selections.

Sculpting:

This is where we've had a bit of a stellar time. Heriberto has been busy on the Zombie Dwarves, completed them and is now working on the Troglodyte Support. He also has a friend working on the Troglodyte Gorale. We're hoping to share pictures of these in the Pledge Manager for you, when that finally goes live.

The last 5 Zombie Dwarves, hope these are gory enough!

Troglodyte MMG Team (Poses)

Troglodyte Anti-Tank Rifle Team (Poses)

Troglodyte Mortar Team (Poses)

Obviously the trogs are all in WIP poses, just to show how they will be arranged around the weapons. Heriberto is working on these this week and has assured us it should not be a too difficult job to complete.

We've also had some progress on the Skøgtrolls from Alex. Here are the first of the Gevärstrupp... We hope that, if we generate enough revenue from these, we will be able to shortly release the other half of the Demi-Section. Alex is fairly busy, so we've not commissioned them yet. His Kickstarter for Troll Bridge starts VERY soon!

Work in progress...

Work in progress...

Victor is still chipping away at the Orc LOV. He's told us that he is quite ill, with gallstones, so we hope he recovers soon. Despite being ill, he's still made a little progress.

These are all T-Poses, made before posing. Still a long way to go on the webbing, etc. Victor is learning history from scratch, so it's a steep learning curve for him!

Community:

Bit of a surprise, we're going to not show anything just yet, but progress continues on the Demo Boards for our UK shows. We think they will be utterly awesome and the guys at Leicester Phat Katz are doing a fantastic job!

However, Steve has been doing a little bit of painting himself. This time on the Deathless Zombi Mountain Trolls (Vuoritroll) which will be available in the Pledge Manager and as part of the Wave 2 shipment!

Standard Zombi Troll (No Crew)

Kickstarter Exclusive Zombi Troll (No Crew)

Okay, well that's it from us this week folks. We'll be back as soon as we've got the Pledge Manager down and confirmed. Again, sorry for the delay, but this just has to be perfect.

Post-Kickstarter Update XI: Zombie Dwarves, LOVies & Trog War Moles...

Sculpting:

What. A. Week!

It's been a good'un!

We'd like to introduce you to Heriberto, our new sculptor, from Mexico - whom has been working on the Zombie Dwarves (bet you forgot about those!) for the Deathless!

He's an absolute speed-demon, he's managing to get these miniatures sculpted incredibly quickly, whilst retaining the character of them. He actually started off by following Gregor's Sketch, then making his own sketches, then going ahead an sculpting them. He's not finished them all, but the first 5 are ready to show!

Gregor's original Dwarf Zombie Concept

Heriberto's expanded concepts

Heriberto's Final Renders!

As you can see, they have loads of great details that make them look like the shambling mess that they should be! We all think the Deathless are going to shape up to be a truly characterful army.

Victor has also been a busy bee, and has made some progress with our Local Orc Volunteers. Keep in mind that these are quite WIP and there will be changes made to them, but the facial characteristics are all there. :)

A number of details will be changed - Don't panic!

I think you'll all agree that Victor has done a glorious job thus far. We really cannot wait to see what the whole unit looks like.

Artwork:

Okay, few exciting things here! Last week, we announced the Kret Bitewny (Battle Mole) for the Troglodytes. Well Will, being the efficient bloke he is, has managed to scribble up this masterpiece!

Based on the TKS-Tankette, which characterised the Polish military force in WW2, the Kret Bitewny will bring a further punch to the Troglodyte forces, with some medium firepower, but a terrifying ability to burrow up from underground, just like the Ulani Kret...

Meanwhile, Gregor has been sketching (only very, very roughly, mind you) the first of our Field Marshal Pledger characters!

This is 'Isla Antonsdottir'... More on her will be revealed once the concept art is completed, but she is a Officer of some description, within the Dwarf army. Steve is working on the background.

3D Printing/Casting:

Anders sent a bunch of 3D prints through, which arrived with Rob yesterday. Rob's had little opportunity to get these moulded up, but hopes to during this week. He's apparently got an Orc Fomor cast up, but it's one of the 'sticky' first casts, so doesn't want to photograph it. Next week should be a big week for casting, if all goes to plan!

As for existing models, Rob's been able to really push on with getting stock made up. Thing are going really well in that regard!

Pledge Manager:

Don't worry folks, this hasn't happened yet. We will make sure to let you all know about this as soon as we can. Craig is still tweaking it and making sure the basics work before loading up all the products. Our aim is to have pictures of as much as we can, to aid selecting your Sections, Sets and Characters. We know it can be very hard choosing stuff just from names - especially when they are in totally different languages!

To whet your appetite, here is the first sneaky preview of our sixth faction, the Skøgtrolls of Skøgmark. Now, there has been some confusion here, these guys are Forest Trolls and they represent the 'Norwegians' of Panzerfäuste. They are few and far between and not particularly well equipped compared to the invading Dwarves, but they are hardy fighters indeed. There will be other 'Troll' races in Panzerfäuste in the future, representing other Scandinavian countries.

Speaking of Craig, Craig is also the webmaster for Orcs in the Webbe. He's running a funding drive this year, to keep the website going. In recent years, he's had to fund the whole thing himself, even though it is a key part of the Historo-Fantasy Wargaming community AND acts as a major advertising platform for like-minded businesses.

Post-Kickstarter Update IX: Strummer's Stormers and LOVie Heads...

This is going to be a short update, due to being a shortened week. Rob headed over to Beasts of War on Wednesday and Thursday to do some filming with them for the Age of Tyrants project that hs eals involved in. It was very successful and you guys will be pleased to know he has also got the ball rolling on some Panzerfäuste content.

Mould making

Rob did a few moulds this week, with mixed success. There's nothing to photograph regarding this that you haven't seen before. Resized Dwarves, as well as a failed mould of the Deathless Zombie Troll. Next week, we're hoping to ramp moulding up big time! Apologies for this. we do have some Zombie Trolls built up, but we don't think the quality is up there with the rest of the range and we don't want to confuse you guys. We'll make sure to show you as soon as we have something we're happy with.

We're actually in a bit of a sour mood about this, as many of the parts of the Zombie Troll have smashed to bits in the mould making process - rendering them useless and meaning that we have to get them reprinted and totally remake the mould. It's just a pain in the backside and a lot of work (and money!) wasted!

Anyway, moving on!

Casting

Nothing to report here. We're running the full capacity now, and casting as often and for as long as possible. It's hard to get the balance of work right at the moment, as casting requires pretty much endlessly working on it. However, we've managed to get a small stock ready and made up. Just gotta pack it into bags!

This has slowed right down. Irek is busy at the moment, but Victor did send us a WIP shot of the first of the Orc LOV Heads...

We're Doomed!
It's a long way off yet, but a good start. The helmet will raise up a little bit and the hair will flick out a bit more.

We got the last STL file we're owed from Prodos Games as well. We don't think we're getting any more from them, just because they are too busy to provide (good for them!) in a timely manner for us. They've been super helpful with this process though.

Orc Matilda I War-beast

We're looking for 3D sculptors as well! Let us know if you are available! We're especially interested if you are keen to add to the Troglodyte and/or Deathless ranges.

3D Printing

Anders in Sweden is continuing to impress. It's a HUGE undertaking printing this amount of figures, so he's been absolutely golden. We're not really sure what we would do without him, not just for his skills as a printer - but also for his ability to organise everything. Rob's pretty scatterbrained and he's really helped rationalise everything logically. Cheers dude! He assures me us we'll have a small parcel next week with some bits and pieces in it.

Artwork

Will has drawn up some rough pictures for the last two characters in the Dwarf Straftruppen Section. These will be the next Dwarf unit to be sculpted.

In Mass Battle, the Straftruppen Set are usable as just any other Section of Straftruppen; but in the Skirmish game, they will be usable as an actual character unit - Steurmer's Stormers! Each member is a character with a short back story.

That Deathless Picture we showed you guys last week is now finished. Piotr has done a grand job!

Other News!

Really, really, really exciting news!

Allan Powell, very kindly has offered to fund a War-Beast set for the Troglodytes. This will be available in the Pledge Manager and we hope to share some concept art from Will Beck in next week's update (or the week after!). We also want to let you guys know that we will be offering all of the Troglodyte Scenery in the Pledge Manager too!

Post-Kickstarter Update VIII: Orcs, Enigma, Deathless and a Frog!

Casting

The good news for us is that we are preeeeetty much there to really push on with our own resin manufacturing at full tilt. Our equipment has finally all arrived as well as having been gone over by someone who is familiar with Pressure (Pressure is a scary and potentially massively destructive thing that can go very, very wrong - so this was important to check before rushing into anything).

This means we are able to start manufacturing figures at a larger scale than we have been up to now.

So, without further ado, here are the rest of the Orc Command (we decided to get the missing parts printed from an alternate source, just to get this ball rolling. Over a month late, but there we go). Thanks to Anders for getting these sorted out for us so quickly.

Orc Sarge and Orc Enigma Machine - Crewed by a pair of Boffins!
In addition to the Orc Command missing bits, Anders also managed to print out the Orc Support Set - which we have cast up (figures are a bit shiny due to being early casts from the mould. Models sent out to backers will NOT be shiny!

Orc "Drainpipe" Anti-Tank Team
Orc "Sausage Shredder" HMG Team
Orc "Pudding Tube" Mortar Team
3D Printing

We've got a load more prints from Anders to get through, with more coming. We don't like to say too much, just in case it's not up to scratch, but we'll show you as soon as there are casts.

Let's just say that Piotr's latest piece of (WIP) artwork should be a good hint...

Artwork

WIP Artwork for The Deathless...
Gregor is currently working on new full concept art for Prince Kaliko of the Gnomes. We hope to share that with you next week.

3D Sculpting

Victor, the sculptor of the Panzerbär, has just begun work on the Local Orc Volunteers. It's going to take him quite some time, as they are a complex unit to sculpt (lots of individual characters and tweaking), but we're hoping to share the progress with you over the next few weeks.

Irek, who sculpted our Dwarves, has committed to finishing the rest of our Dwarves and Gnomes. Again, this will be slow, but we'll get there. Irek is now freelance too, so it should be easier to get progress from him.

The first piece he's done for us since going freelance is Hauptmann Entwickler!

Hauptmann Entwickler and his Night-Vision Frog!

We absolutely love this character, first created by long-time Panzerfän, Luke Passingham. He is in a LOT of scenarios on the Orcs in the Webbe website, so get over there and check it out!

Community

Ant Evans has continued to be awesome and paint scenery for us. He's been working on the Snail Barn that Tony so lovingly sculpted up. We think you'll all agree that it looks really fantastic.

Also, we've been mentioned in the Beasts of War XLBS Video today! If you are a back-stager, check it out! They just run through some of the designs for The Deathless.

Post-Kickstarter Update IV: Zombi, Commando, Dwarves and Dice

We've had a busy week here at Hysterical Games; but actual progress pales in comparison to the past two weeks. This may happen now and again, but we expect better progress in the short future.

Artwork

We have had more artwork done, however, we are keen to keep some of this as a surprise for the rulebooks you have pledged for. Trust us, there will be some lovely scenes, landscapes and portraits.

3D Sculpting

Sadly, we've not had the progress we would have liked in this part. We discovered the Deathless Zombi Elves were carrying Dwarf heads that were out of scale from the Dwarf Grenadier models, so we have had to do some jiggery-pokery to fix that. We've also not had any progress since last week regarding the Panzerbär, but trust me, I am on the sculptor's case!

The edited Zombi. Dwarves have big heads!

Mouldmaking and Casting

This week we were unable to do quite as much as we usually would. Due to a huge mishap with the mould on one of our buildings, we sadly cannot share that just yet. However, next week, we expect we will show this building at the very least.

We did make a mould of the 3D prints for the Dwarf Command Set, sadly, they are not quite up to standard, so the printer is now looking at solving that for us. It's a step backwards, and a little irksome, but that's all part of the learning curve. Here's what they came out like.

A mixed bag, some are shiny, some details have not printed correctly, yet one or two are perfect!

We also managed to cast up the missing part from the Orc Commandos, which I can show you here!

Accessories!

We did make some progress here! We have received and packed all of the Dice we need for the Kickstarter and then some. Here is a quick snap-shot of the Printed D6 that many of you will be receiving.

We have also taken shipment of a whole load of bases in a variety of sizes (20mm, 25mm, 40mm, 50mm and 60mm to be precise). Having looked at our figures, we decided to include 50mm (not shown in the photograph) as well, especially for the Gnome Weapon Teams.

So, ultimately, the good news is that we have packed all the dice! That's one product range entirely sorted and ready to ship already! Not much, but we have to celebrate the little wins!

Orcs in the Webbe Advent Calendar!

Craig has been a busy bee, updating Orcs in the Webbe with community driven articles for Panzerfäuste and other Historo-Fantasy wargames. Please do check it out! There are already a number of Panzerfäuste articles there.

Mushroom Turrets

Irek Zielinski Interview

There will be many more this month, so do keep an eye out. We'd also like to hear any questions you have for Rob, from , regarding our project, what it has been to do it, what we will be doing and what plans we have. Simply email Craig at: craig@orcsinthewebbe.co.uk
